My Relationship With You, The Truth
You and I haven't always had the best relationship. I've denied your existence in the past, going out of my way to avoid you at times. You've certainly popped up in moments when it felt very inconvenient for me.
Most of the time you're calm and contained, like a well-fed cat, sitting and grooming purring along. I don't need to ignore you because you're perfectly fine.
But when you're hungry, when you need acknowledgment, and your state is harsh and upsetting, it's like a cat in heat: shrill cries that cannot be escaped.
I don't mean to paint you out to be something bad. That's wrong. Your existence itself is inherent and permanent. You will exist for eternity, whether anyone wants to acknowledge you or not. And frankly, if one does the right thing all the time, you're more than likely to keep to yourself and stay calm and quiet.
It's in the moments when the universe does what it does best and exposes its chaotic nature that you become unpleasant and unbearable. That is of course, not your fault.
Consider this then a peace treaty. I will no longer get upset and act out in childish anger when you rear your head. Instead, I will use you to my advantage. I will channel you to do my part in making the world a better place. When you get ugly, I'll do what I can to make you a little more beautiful.
Cool. Let's do lunch later.
